Best Markets near NDIS Housing Sydney & Newcastle
Sydney and Newcastle’s markets are a favourite destination of both locals and visitors, with a few of the large markets very much seen as a key part of the Sydney lifestyle.
A busy and colorful market culture can be found on any day of the week (but especially on weekends), with a wide range of stalls offering fruit and veggies, brewed coffee, bric a brac, vintage and custom clothing, household items, baked goods and more!
While the wider Sydney and Newcastle areas have many markets operating each month, the best part about these markets below is their location – each a short tram, tram or car ride from our NDIS housing in Sydney or Newcastle.

You’d better set aside a few hours for this one – as the largest wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower markets in Australia (and one of the largest food distribution centres), there’s more than enough to keep you shopping for hours on end (if that’s your thing).

Established over 200 years ago on the wharves of Sydney, the Sydney Markets play a significant role in the horticultural industry, and the economy of New South Wales and Australia.
Sydney Markets is a “one-stop-shop” with everything from produce and packaging to warehouses, cafés and agricultural supplies all on site. Industry associations, banks, retail shops and other key services are also available in the nearby Sydney Markets Plaza.
